San Miguel Pure Foods Posts P103 Billion in Revenues for 2014
March 20, 2015
San Miguel Pure Foods Company Inc. breached the P100 billion revenue mark for the first time in 2014, posting P103 billion in revenues, 3% higher than the previous year. Higher volumes and better selling prices across most of its businesses contributed to strong results.
Operating income rose 17% to Php 6.5 billion due to higher revenues, better efficiencies, and lower wheat costs. Net income reached Php 3.8 billion while EBITDA ended at Php 8.8 billion.
Combined revenues of the agro-industrial and flour milling businesses grew 6%, again on account of higher volumes and favorable selling prices. Growth was helped by the expansion of exclusive franchise outlets such as Magnolia Chicken Stations, Monterey Meat Shops and Kambal Pandesal and Food Service.
Revenues for the branded, value-added business meanwhile rose 2% despite logistical constraints resulting from congestion in Manila’s main ports, which significantly affected volumes.
The Company‘s recent acquisition of the La Pacita brand signals its entry into the biscuits category in line with its strategy of growing its value-added business. The Company continues to actively look for opportunities to grow its portfolio through acquisitions.
